Train MiRo To Help People and WIN a MiRo-E!

In partnership with Discovery STEM and Innovation World, we’re excited to be bringing you the GIFT Challenge for your chance to WIN a MiRo-E and more!

There are guide dogs that help people who are blind, companion pets to help cheer people up and even animals that will carry objects where they are needed.

Your mission in this challenge is to train MiRo to perform a function in the real world that will help people.

What the environment is, what the person’s problem is and what MiRo does to help them is up to you. You design the situation and you train MiRo to solve it by writing the code.

Examples of the environment and who MiRo is helping could be:

  • In a hospital, Miro could help a patient or a Doctor/Nurse

  • In a home, Miro could help a baby or a pet

  • In school, Miro could help a teacher or a student

  • In a shop or store, Miro could help a customer or a clerk

You are NOT limited to these ideas. You can even think up your own situation in any location and have MiRo help out.

Not sure where to begin? How about asking a neighbour, family member or friend for a challenge, situation, or problem that they have faced and think about how Miro can be part of the solution.

Possible situations you could teach MiRo to handle:

  • In a home, a pet is misbehaving

  • In a hospital, a patient needs help

  • In a school, a teacher needs to leave her class alone in the room for a few minutes

How could MiRo find out there was a problem?
